There are all kinds of exercises that you can do when you want to work out. However, you want to make sure that you have a program that will work your whole body. You do not want to do just one area of your body and forget the rest.
Another thing that you want to do is watch what you eat and make sure that you are on the correct diet. You will need protein and carbohydrates to help you build muscle. The best thing that you can do is to find a professional weight trainer to work with you so you can figure out what would work best for what you want to achieve. No one can tell you what the best program is for you because your body and goals will be different than everyone else.
Another thing that you want to think about is whether you want to join a gym or set up a gym in your own home. You want to do the one that will make you the most comfortable. You will not see the results that you want when you are busy being self conscious about how you look doing your weight training program.
These are all things that you will need to do and figure out before you start any weight training program. You do not want to start anything that you do not know about. You need to make sure that you educate yourself on everything about bodybuilding before you try it. Otherwise you may end up wasting a lot of time and not getting any results at all

I've been lifting for 15 years and almost everyone I know (including myself) has injured themselves by trying to do too much too fast. Doing 15 sets on bench until you have tendon/ligament damage and can't lift heavy weights for the next year will NOT help you hit the 200 lbs mark!
Make sure you eat healthy, but eat more than you normally would. Don't stuff your face, but you eat enough throughout the day so that you never feel hungry. Have a whey protein shake made with 2% or less milk before and after you lift, and a casein shake before you go to sleep at night. Work hard, but don't overdo it and shoot for 175 by January instead.
